Revelation Paintings: 15-26 July 2025 HENK TOMKINS

Revelation Paintings presents a new series by artist Henk Tomkins, that explores the immediacy and complexity of human emotion. Using a process grounded in gestural painting and screen printing, Tomkins works with instinct, movement, and material to trace fleeting emotional states. Through this approach, he captures the visceral reactions that shape the human condition. The works engage themes such as the inevitability of death, the intensity of human relationships, and the emotional toll of living in a fractured world. Rather than seeking to depict or resolve these experiences, the works remain suspended in a space between sensation and form, response and reflection. Here, the emotional weight of being human is felt more than explained—vulnerable, visceral, and unresolved. Through representation, revealing revelation—emotions laid bare.
