Tonya Dudson

Tonya Dudson is new to the practice of ceramics, having recently completed a certificate in ceramics
through Otago Polytechnic studying part-time over the last two years. Tonya has always been an amateur maker and do-it-your-selfer (sewing, knitting, cabinetmaking), hoping to polish on her ceramic skills and complete further study in time. Currently a  member of Auckland Studio Potters. "My ongoing work as a mental health clinician over many years frequently informs my practice."

Locked away? - a piece for Moa Freeze exhibition is part of a series of works studying on 'containment' :

"Memories of moments are tightly held within, seemingly locked away, protected. They remain present but no longer in conscious existence. They cannot be seen or known by others. Only in the hands of someone careful can these moments be shared."
