Stephanie Postles

Stephanie Postles works with rich oil pigment, with an earnest interest in capturing and recording simplified and quotidian moments within the context of her daily life. Her work is a contradictory mix of realism and romanticism, as her subjects are often captured in honest and truthful moments but surrounded by rich, colourful and romanticized textures.

Postles is influenced by painters such as Edvard Munch and Pierre Bonnard and also draws inspiration from literature, photography, film and an intense compulsion to record memories.

Currently she is working in remote parts of the south island in the conservation sector and lives a life on the move taking her paintings with her to work on.
