Michael Kennedy

Michael Kennedy (aka Malangeo) creates wonderfully weird portraits of "creepy-cute" critters, macabre beasties & fragile floral beings.

His work is a celebration of traditional oil painting techniques and contemporary pop surreal style. Brought up on the irreverent humour of cartoons and comics like The Farside and Calvin & Hobbes; his art oozes of whimsical charm, dark humour and pop culture references.

Michael has held solo shows at The Depot Artspace & Satellite gallery, and has been in many group shows in galleries around New Zealand, the US, UK and Italy.
